Interpretation of Test Scores:
Bonnie scored mostly 3s. Bonnie would be good for the averyage home, preferrably one that has owned a dog before. She can be a high-energy dog and may need lots of exercise. She would generally be good with people, other animals, and children. She will need to have structure and follow a consistent schedule at her new home. She will need training but she will do very well at it and learn quickly. Consistent brushing and nail trimming will be important for Bonnie as she needs to grow accustomed to the sensation and feeling of being touched under the paws. Use treats or lick mats to reinforce the positive experience especially when trimming nails or handling her paws. During the test, Bonnie was very excited to be there and was wagging her tail. She was not fearful and showed confidence. She would be a good dog for someone who will establish structure in the home and dedicated to training her well.
Our Observations:
From what we've observed over the weeks, Bonnie is a sweet, playful, and social girl. She plays well with other dogs but she does like to show who's boss sometimes. She is a confident puppy but socializaton and desensitization should continue. Bonnie was also introduced to one of our cats and she was excited and curious at first and when our cat tried to play with her she became a little nervous and barked at him. After a little warming up, she was eager to play with him again. Bonnie would make a great dog for someone who lives an active lifestyle. She is confident and resilient but is social and affectionate.
