Interpretation of Test Scores:
Elena scored all 3s and 4s with 3s being the highest. Elena would be good for any owner regardless of experience with dog ownership. She can be a high-energy dog and may need lots of exercise. She would generally be good with people, other animals, and children. She will need to have structure and follow a consistent schedule at her new home. She will need training but she will do very well at it and learn quickly. Consistent brushing and nail trimming will be important for Elena as she needs to grow accustomed to the sensation and feeling of being touched under the paws. Use treats or lick mats to reinforce the positive experience especially when trimming nails or handling her paws. During the test, Elena seemed excited and kept wagging her tail. She did not seem fearful and showed confidence. She actually had ideal scores and would be a great dog for any home.
Our Observations:
From what we've observed over the weeks, Elena is social and playful. She plays well with other dogs and loves attention from people. She is a confident puppy but socializaton and desensitization should continue. Elena would make a great dog for someone who lives an active lifestyle as she is curious and excited to explore. There is no doubt that with the right training and socialization, she would be a well rounded dog someday.
